IMO S89 Miracle, Quad Core & 12 MP Camera
Quad-core era has come. It means, affordable quad-core phones. Believe it or not, but this is a fact. Price of quad-core smartphone now the number has reaches of two million rupiahs. Even lower again. As will be tested below: IMO S89 Miracle.
DESIGN & SCREEN
Miracle body size half and relatively thin (132 x 68 x 10.8 mm). So still quite comfortably in the palm of the hand. Its weight also still within tolerance (158 grams). The concept of design is simple with a rounding pattern on every corner. Pretty enough. But unfortunately, the entire surface of plastic body smooth makes the phone quite slippery when held.
Button and connectivity port are 3.5 mm audio jack, micro USB, and Power buttons. All is lined up on the top. As for the right and left body only found volume controls. Below the screen are three haptic touch buttons for menu, home, and back. Loud speakers, as usual stick to the rear body. Followed by camera and a LED flash.
When remove the rear parts found microSD slot and two GSM SIM card port. All of them was blocked by batteries. Both SIM card support dual-on thus can be active simultaneously.
For the interface, Miracle use IPS LCD capacitive size of 4.5-inch. This 16M colors display with density 540 x 960 pixels. Technically, then those specification will generate 245 ppi. Quite good for its class. However, the glass surface still leave sweat.
The screen brightness quite high and can be set to automatic since equipped with ambient. Color reproduction and response to finger touch also reliable. Through multitouch tester, screen capable of receiving five touch points simultaneously.
PERFORMANCE & MEMORY
This phone uses chipset from MediaTek; MT6589 with 1.2 GHz clock. As mentioned earlier, processor supported by four-core (quad-core) with PowerVR 544MP GPU system. The performance very powerful. Scroll through menus and opening apps seemed so nimble. Its multitasking ability also reliable. Understandably, Miracle supported by 1 GB RAM memory.
Tested with several benchmark tools, the results are varied. On Antutu test session for example, the results are very encouraging; 13 826 points, as well as from NenaMark2 get 53 fps. However, On Quadrant test produced only 3,913.
To store data, supplied 4 GB of internal memory space. Which should be noted, only 1.3 GB of data files that can be entered. Even so of course you can expand it up to 32 GB through micro SD card.
On the software side, Miracle has adopted the latest version of Android operating system v4.2.1 (Jelly Bean). But unfortunately, its inside still very standard of Android. Its interface also still typical of Jelly Bean.
List of embedded applications still rely on the services from Google and some social networking. Call it, Facebook, Instagram, Gmail, Google maps, Skype, and others. There are some additional applications, but actually can be downloaded for free from Play Store.
In addition to quad-core processor, camera seems can become another flagship of this phone. Understandably, the sensor is 12 megapixels. Miracle also features 3 MP front camera and a LED flash.
From several shots with all the options set on automatic mode, the resulting images turned out fairly sharp and detailed. Color saturation and hue accurately enough. Video record results size of 1080p also quite satisfactory. Video that obtained looks sharp with the smooth movement of the object.
Music player still carries a simple Android standard. Provided the equalizer with a dozen options of sound effects. As always, users can sort songs by artist, album, song title, or playlist.
Through the default earphones, songs that playing are so strong, with a dominant bass boom. Audio quality becomes more balanced when we plug the earphones of other brands. Bursts of loud speakers aren’t so strong. But the sound output not broken, although the volume is pulled to the maximum level.
(+) Its performance very reliable, 12 MP camera, the price is relatively affordable
(-) Screen still leave sweat, OS interface still the standard Android
