Samsung Galaxy ACE Plus (GTS7500), Plus Processor and New Memory | IT Hot Technics

If you think this is latest upgrade from Galaxy Ace, you are absolutely right. Samsung seems carefully look at the lack that owned in previous series, therefore in some parts are given improvement so this phone more quality and have better performance. However, there are some parts that are not exist, which aren’t visible in the body of Ace Plus. Here are the advantages and disadvantages of this phone.

DESIGN

When in hand, will feel the difference from the previous series. Feel wider, and there is additional in length and thickness. This isn’t an error and didn’t gives a lot of effect. Even better because the screen becomes more spacious.

Its weight was now added 2 grams to 115 grams. The front view there are no changes, homescreen physic button are still remains in the same place. Samsung actually gives a change in placement charger slot (once above) are now placed at the bottom. Likewise with microSD slot, if first looks easy because on the outside, now a bit inconvenient because its position on the inside. Means that we must open the back cover first. Even so already supporting hotswap technology.

Audio jack hole and power button remained in same place, that is on the top (audio jack) and next to the right side. While for the placement of camera was no longer on the left but a little bit to the center adjacent to the speaker. For keeping sturdiness of this phone, still given list from stainless steel as before.

SCREEN AND INTERFACE

The widening of body Galaxy Ace Plus causes the the screen width increase. Indeed only a little, if once only 3.5 inch now become 3.65 inch. This type of screen not changed, still like the first using capacitive touch screen, with a depth of 16 Sandwich in the middle class.

Lockscreen was redesigned in this series, so that we can open it by sliding in different directions. There are 7 screens that can be customized with various widgets for easy access to menu. Number of dots that identify homescreen panel also serves as scroll bar. Tap and hold down allowing you scroll to the right and left side of homescreen view that shorter than the main.

PERFORMANCE

The most outstanding from this series upgrade is an improvement in processor and the migration of operating system in Galaxy Ace Plus. Back then, the processor using MSM7227 chipset belong to Qualcomm with clock speed of 800 Mhz ARM 11, today the latest version more strong and agile with Snapdragon S1 that also have Qualcomm, speed of 1GHz. Of course this will boost performance in various lines. Operating system already use Android Gingerbread so no need to upgrade like the previous.

Doing some testing with some of software applications in the Android Market. Either for testing performance and graphics. By using Antutu Benchmark score that obtained is 3158,  then with Quadrant the number is 2274, and the last with NeoCore get result of 084.0 fps.

Galaxy Ace Plus provided larger storage capacity than before. if the storage was only 158 MB, with RAM of 278 MB, now its internal up to 3 GB with RAM of 512 MB. If still less, can use microSD up to 32 GB.

CAMERA

Updates made by Samsung didn’t get to this part. Indeed is very unfortunate, because if camera upgraded beyond resolution of 5 MP then would become better. At least provide of a shortcut button that also functions as shutter, because in previous series this button do not exist.

However, the addition of processor increase the performance speed of camera to capture images. The result shows a good picture quality with good detail. In the room the picture still covered with help or without flash. The camera capable of capturing images with maximum resolution of 2560 x 1920.

The front view camera also looks familiar by placing two shortcut bar on each side of the window. For change the camera mode to video, positioned on the right, a row with virtual shutter button, and gallery shortcuts. The opposite side, at the very top corner there is an icon that contains the shooting menu mode (single shot, continuous, smile shot and panorama). right below it there is scene modes which consists of landcape, sport, portrait, night, and party or indoor and others. Furthermore there is flash and setting.

MUSIC PLAYER

Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus using standard music player Touchwiz. By default, tracks are sorted into four categories which consists of All, playlist, album and artist. From settings we can add or delete categories to organize music player as we want.

At now playing time, you can also adjusting its user interface, or you can speed up or skip a song. Another interesting feature is that we can quickly find a song that is on the list directly to YouTube or through a search on Google. For its video player, can only run file of 3GP and MP4 video and didn’t support for DivX and XviD files.

By putting the speakers in the rear, sound that produced is less loud, so you must flip phone when listening to music. In order for more quality sound, we can perform a variety of settings, for example by changing the sound output according to the genre in equalizer.

Samsung Galaxy Ace plus comes with FM radio. To turn it must first plug in the earphones. Front view also interesting with frequency bar made curved like a circle. Just slide to the right and left to find the desired frequency.

CONNECTIVITY AND BATTERY

Phones that run on 3G networks, HSDPA 7.2Mbps, has a complete connection. In this part there are a number of update such as Bluetooth which now using version 3.0 A2DP (earlier version 2.1). In addition to Bluetooth there are WiFi, DLNA, and WiFi hotspots. For the cable connection can use microUSB and 3.5 mm audio jack. While for the battery, has capacity decreased to 1300 mAh from 1350 mAh earlier.
